“What the world needs now….”

What shape is your heart in?

Image via Wikipedia

That’s not a trick question or a medical one. I’m not about to tell you that you need to eat less or exercise more. I just wondered how your heart was feeling today. If it was a Monday your heart might have been sinking a little with the thought of going to work or school or college.

Your heart may be beating a little faster with the thought of something nice or exciting you’re looking forward to, or someone you’re looking forward to seeing.

Your heart may feel like its broken in two and you may be mourning the loss of a loved one or the loss of your job or home.

Your heart may feel dead, you’ve stopped feeling anything, can’t be bothered any more and you’ve switched off all emotions.

Whatever shape it’s in we all need love, But sometimes life gets in the way of love and in the words of the popular song “you’ve lost that loving feeling”

…Loves we known and lost, loves we should never have had, loves that have stood the test of time, enduring love for parents, children, spouses, partners….Love is a many splendoured thing and comes in many forms.

But there is a love that transcends all the human love we know. A love that will never end, that we can never fathom the height or depth of, a love eternal and true that cannot be bought or earned.

It’s a love that was willing to pay the price for us, that came in the form of a baby and was willing to hang on a cross so we could have freedom. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” That life can start now if you want it to. If you want to know a love unlike any other then all you have to do is ask.

About alicesapplesofgold

I'm a mother and grandmother, though not so old, and live in one of the most beautiful places in the country, Cornwall. fortunate enough to live by the sea I never want to be too far away from its sight and sound. I love music, words, painting, life, my family, my friends and most of all my faith. I live on the same roller coaster as everyone else but love to encourage others, support them when they're struggling and most of all want to have made a difference to the world by the time I leave it. I believe faith is an intimate part of everyday life and seek to relate the ordinary to the divine. It is the encouragement of others that has brought me to this point.
